The Richmond Hill community gathered at the 8th annual Shell Out for a CURE, sponsored by Gateway Terminals, for an unforgettable evening supporting children and families facing childhood cancer.
This year’s event proudly recognized two Richmond Hill children, George and Emily Kate, as Honored Heroes. Both are young cancer survivors who faced their diagnoses with remarkable courage and resilience. Their journeys and the strength shown by their families serve as a powerful reminder of why continued investment in pediatric cancer research and family support is so essential.
The evening was filled with perfectly roasted oysters from Magnolia Grill Catering, live music from Literal Ginger, and a shared mission to stand united in the fight against childhood cancer. Each year, Shell Out for a CURE not only raises critical funds for research and family support services but also shines a light on the strength and resilience of children in our community. Through sponsorships, ticket sales, donations, raffles, and silent and live auctions, a total of $145,000 was raised – the most Shell Out for a CURE has ever raised. These funds support critical childhood cancer research and provide essential programs for patient families, including financial assistance, counseling, meals, and resources that help families through treatment.
