Bereavement

Each January CURE hosts our Weekend of Hope and Healing. We gather together to celebrate the lives of the children who are no longer with us while providing essential skills-based presentations and workshops to assist parents in their grief process. Although brief, our time together is rich with fellowship and unspoken understandings each loss has on a parent.

For families who have attended our Weekend of Hope and Healing five times, or are further along in their grief journey and would prefer a one day retreat, Legacy of Love focuses on families reconnecting with other bereaved families in a relaxed environment. Legacy of Love will include a speaker addressing a topic relevant to this group as well as a recreational activity and a memorable candle lighting ceremony.

“Please know how much I recognize and am thankful for, besides the important mission of Cure-providing on-going support for families in the battle with cancer as well as fund-raising for research, you haven’t forgotten the bereaved parents nor each and every PRECIOUS CHILD whose lives have been cut short by this monstrous disease.”
