Nick Geter

Nick joined CURE in March 2024 as Senior Coordinator, Patient and Family Services, and passed away on November 13, 2025, after a five-year brain tumor battle. Nick had one of the hardest jobs at CURE – helping to provide financial assistance to families impacted by childhood cancer during their time of greatest need. He performed his job with thoughtfulness, dedication, and endless compassion.

Nick was passionate about the mission and took serving these families very seriously, feeling honored to help in a small way during their most difficult times. Shortly before his passing, Nick was asked how he was feeling. He took a few seconds to reply and then said, “I feel content.” What a powerful word. How many of us can say we are content at any given moment, least of all when facing a tremendous health scare?

Nick desperately wanted to feel normal, and his time at CURE gave him that space. Making him part of the team meant it wasn’t about his brain cancer. Nick loved his family, the Atlanta Braves, engaging in lunchtime banter with coworkers, serving in his church, and having a job that allowed him to make life better for others.

Nick is deeply missed by CURE and the families we serve. His family created a Named Fund at CURE to honor his legacy of care and compassion.
