We will be taking applications for next year’s CURE Crew in the spring of 2024. Please check back then or follow us on Instagram and look out for the announcement.

CURE Crew information

Thank you for your interest in being a part of our CURE Crew. The purpose of CURE Crew is to offer high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to support CURE through fundraising, volunteering, advocacy, and awareness of pediatric cancer with the leadership and guidance of CURE’s staff. Students will benefit by earning community service hours by engaging in structured fundraising and service opportunities that will provide them with meaningful life skills and compassion for an underserved population. At the same time, CURE will benefit by having students in the community sharing CURE’s mission and vision.

CURE’s Mission

To conquer childhood cancer through funding targeted research while supporting patients and their families.

Our Focus and History

Since our establishment in 1975 as a grass-roots organization, CURE has focused its efforts on improving the care, quality of life, and survival rate of children with cancer. The founders, parents and a dedicated pediatric oncologist, joined forces to support laboratory research that would translate into immediate care for children with cancer. Since that time, CURE has raised millions of dollars to fund cutting edge research at the Aflac Cancer Center Blood Disorders Service at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Emory University School of Medicine and other leading institutions around the nation. Through innovative programming, CURE also provides support for stricken families, aiming to address their critical and urgent needs. Locally, we provide support for pediatric oncology patients and families at The Dwaine and Cynthia Willet Children’s Hospital in Savannah.

Rising Juniors and Seniors

While we encourage students to do volunteer work with many different organizations, during the year a student is selected to serve on CURE Crew, they are committing to serving and fundraising as a student ambassador for CURE. This year of service includes volunteer opportunities, fundraising opportunities, and leadership opportunities. **We ask that you carefully consider your other nonprofit/charity commitments to ensure that you have the capacity to fulfill your obligation with CURE without it conflicting with other fundraising and nonprofit initiatives.

Selection process

Applications should be filled out online by April 30, 2024.

Meetings

Meetings will be held quarterly on Sunday afternoons. We’ll do our best to accommodate the schedules of members and we ask that members to their best to be in attendance since we only meet four times per year.
