Nick joined CURE in September 2023 as Coordinator, Patient and Family Services. At the age of twelve, Nick was diagnosed with aplastic anemia. After several years of treatment, his disease began turning into cancer. His case was referred to the National Institute of Health, where a trial bone marrow transplant cured his disease.
Because of the social workers and nurses who assisted with his care, Nick got a Bachelor of Social Work in the hope of helping others. Nick worked in the housing sector in Atlanta for six years as an experienced Case Manager and Senior Care Coordinator, including projects such as the LIFT 2.0 Program in Atlanta and RISE II with Caring Works.
In his role at CURE, Nick oversees and works closely with volunteers to increase involvement with activities that assist children battling cancer. Nick’s passion for helping others comes from his direct experience fighting a blood disorder. In his spare time, he loves weightlifting, spending time with his church community, and serving others.
