Laura joined CURE in June 2025 as Coordinator, Patient and Family Services for Augusta. In 2022, Laura’s oldest son, Webb, was diagnosed with a pilomyxoid astrocytoma, a brain tumor that necessitated emergency surgery and over a year of chemotherapy infusions. Webb finished his treatments in June 2023 and now enjoys all things music and sports, and being a big brother.
Prior to joining CURE, Laura was a high school history teacher for ten years. Throughout Webb’s cancer journey, she discovered a passion for connecting with families in similar situations who were longing for a sense of community. As a lifelong resident of Augusta, Laura is enthusiastic about sharing the multitude of resources and services CURE offers with families being treated at Wellstar Golisano Children’s Hospital of Georgia.
