Prior to joining CURE in 2018, Karen worked in recruiting and family experience roles at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. After her oldest daughter, Katie, was diagnosed at the age of 16 with rhabdomyosarcoma, Karen became very involved in the childhood cancer community. In her new role, Karen heads up the Counseling Program and our Open Arms Lunch Program while also supporting all other Patient and Family Services programs and events. Her goal is to do all she can to help move forward the mission of CURE until one day there are no other children diagnosed with cancer.
Katie has completed the yearlong treatment and is enjoying a healthy life as a childhood cancer survivor.
