Abby Smith, Development Manager, Community Engagement, South Georgia

Abby joined CURE Childhood Cancer in 2026 as the Development Manager, Community Engagement. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and brings more than 20 years of experience serving children, youth, families, and communities through youth development, counseling, program development, and relationship-building. Her involvement with CURE began in 2011 at the first Catie’s Gathering, where she first witnessed the impact of the organization’s mission on children and families affected by childhood cancer. Since then, she has remained inspired by CURE’s commitment to supporting families and advancing childhood cancer research.

In her role, Abby supports community fundraising initiatives, cultivates partnerships with local businesses and organizations, engages volunteers, and helps increase awareness of CURE’s mission throughout the region. She is excited to help grow community support for childhood cancer research and the family services that provide hope and assistance to children with cancer and their loved ones.

Outside of work, Abby enjoys traveling, staying active, spending time with family and friends, and finding opportunities to connect with and serve her community.
