“I have long felt that pediatric cancer has been far more in the background from an awareness standpoint and has lacked the resources, attention, investment, and research initiatives of diseases that target other age groups. Although I do not have personal experience with childhood cancer, I have always wanted to be able to make a difference and be part of the solution to defeating this dreadful group of diseases and make a difference in the children that experience this and in the advances that one day will eliminate this from children’s and everyone’s lives.”
