Children’s Programming at Live Oak Public Libraries
From June through August, see storytellers, musicians, animal acts, artists and more perform for free at various Live Oak Public library branches in Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties. The shows are part of the library’s summer reading program “One World, Many Stories.” Performers include Pint Size Polkas with children’s musician Mike Schneider; Fiddlin’ Dan, the Mountain Man whose program includes storytelling and sing-alongs; Chad Crews, Magical Educator with a combination of magic, storytelling, music and live animals; Fun with Electricity to spark enthusiasm about electricity; Curious Moon Puppet Theatre, which presents a journey of folk tales from around the world; Storyteller J’miah Nabawi; an “Aladdin” performance by a traveling theater troupe from New Hampshire; and Razzle Dazzle! with storyteller Lillian Grant-Baptiste. $1 Children’s Summer Blockbuster Movies
Victory Square Stadium 9 and Regal Savannah Stadium 10 in Savannah along with Pooler Stadium Cinemas 12 and Royal Cinemas in Pooler will offer $1 weekly kids’ movies at 10 a.m. on designated Tuesday and Thursday mornings. In addition, theaters will be offering $1-2 popcorn and drinks. Spray Pad at Forsyth Park and Spray Fountain at Hull Park
Through Aug. 31, the Forsyth Park Spray Pad – between Whitaker and Drayton streets, directly across from The Mansion – will be open and a playground leader is on site to supervise. If concerts are scheduled, the spray pad will be off. Schedule is 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday; 1-7 p.m. Saturday; noon-6 p.m. Sunday.
The spray fountains at Hull Park in Ardsley Park, located at 55th Street and Atlantic Avenue, will be open 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday and noon-4 p.m. Saturday between June 20 and Aug. 12.
Kids bowl for free at participating bowling allies
Go to www.kidsbowlfree.com and register for the Kids Bowl Free program. Children ages 15 and younger are eligible for two free games of bowling per day good through Aug. 21. For ages 15 and younger.

U-pick blackberry picking at Bamboo Farms & Coastal Gardens
Call the hotline at 912-921-5897 to check field conditions or confirm the field is open. Pre-weighted, pre-lined buckets are available, and the price for berries is $3 per pound. Cash or check only. The field must be cleared at 4 p.m. The farm is located at 2 Canebrake Road.

Area Zoos and Animal Attractions
On Toucan Tuesdays at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden in Columbia, S.C., two can visit for the price of one with a donation of two cans of non-perishable food to Harvest Hope. On Toucan Tuesdays, Riverbanks will also offer $2 ICEEs and 2-for-1 specials in the Elephant’s Trunk Gift Shop. Toucan Tuesdays will run for 13 consecutive Tuesdays throughout the summer, ending on Aug. 30. The promotion applies to general admission rates only. Purchase one admission and get the second of equal or lesser value free. Explorer wristbands and memberships are not included. Donation bins will be located at both the zoo and garden entrances. Check out the trails at the Oatland Island Wildlife Center. Some of the animals at the center include cougar, bobcat, bison, alligators, red fox, black bear and birds of prey. Pack a picnic and get there early. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 4-17, and $3 for college students, seniors and military.
