Advocating for your Child’s Academic Needs – Part 2
September 25 - 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The idea of sending your child back to school after a cancer diagnosis can feel scary and overwhelming. What if my child is too sick? Will he be able to make friends? Is it too much for her? Will my child be able to keep up? Join CURE Childhood Cancer for a two-part webinar series where attendees will learn how to advocate for their child’s academic needs.
Monday, September 11th from 6:00pm-7:00pm
Keely Bailey, LCSW, RPT and Ginger Armstrong will focus on learning challenges and laws that protect your child academically. Participants will learn about the educational challenges that may result from a cancer diagnosis or its treatment and will learn about special accommodations that can be made to set a child up for success.
**Keely is the owner of Compass Counseling & Consulting and a former Cobb County school social worker.
**Ginger Armstrong is the Coordinator, School Program Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and former Aflac Cancer Center School Teacher.
Please RSVP to Karen at Karen@curechildhoodcancer.org. Once your RSVP has been processed you will receive an email confirmation with information on how to access the webinar from your computer or phone.
